My framed landscape prints are painstakingly crafted and printed from only my very best images; the vast majority were captured to strictly observed standards using high end professional cameras and lenses, in particular the Fuji GX617 panoramic camera, one of several Canon EOS full frame digital cameras or, more recently, the Nikon D850 digital camera.
Quality is maintained by respecting the relationship between original image size and final print size; minimising the level of magnification between the two ensures that the print that I produce for my customers contains infinite subject detail.
About The Prints
The appearance and quality of a finished print depends as much upon the printing process and the media used as it does on the actual image itself. This is something that customers frequently overlook when selecting and making a purchase. In the hands of professionals the standard media offered by printer manufacturers such as Epson, Canon and Fuji produces excellent results and works perfectly well in most applications.
However, for gallery or museum quality prints that are intended to last a lifetime there is no substitute for a fine art paper. Fine art papers enhance the quality of the image, and offer other benefits that are not available with other products on the market.
To coincide with the launch of my new website and product range I now print all my images exclusively on Hahnemühle Fine Art papers and canvases. Hahnemühle have been producing papers for more than 400 years; the impressive feel and conservational properties of their mould made and cotton papers have won them international awards. A premium coating preserves their haptic exclusiveness and guarantees long-lasting true-to-detail prints that meet the requirements of museums and galleries. Hahnemühle inkjet media allow for fine art prints featuring an extensive colour gamut, best contrast and finest nuances for impressive pictures.
My paper based prints are produced on a 310 g/m2, 100% a-Cellulose, white German Etching Hahnemühle media. This heavyweight paper is velvety smooth with a fine surface texture and is one of the most popular media worldwide for artwork and photography.
I print my images on the very latest Epson printers using Ultrachrome HDR pigment inks. These printers take inkjet (giclee) technology to an entirely new level with higher colour accuracy, greater subtlety and smoother gradations. Grass and foliage is much more vivid and natural whilst orange tones in sunrises and sunsets are more dazzling.
All print dimensions quoted relate to the actual size of the printed image; a white border of 50mm (2 inches) or more is added to each print to assist handling. The image title and copyright information is also added discreetly on each print.
All prints are signed.
About the Framed Prints
My images are intended for display professionally mounted and framed; they are available supplied framed in any one of a selection of mouldings which I believe work well with them. These frames are of simple design and made externally, to order, by one of the UK’s best-known framers. They are produced using only the very best quality materials to an exceptionally high standard by Fine Art Trade Guild craftsmen.
In the framing process, a print is first dry mounted before being placed behind a soft white bevelled mount. This procedure has many benefits; the print surface will remain perfectly flat, it determines and maintains the print’s precise position within the frame, it allows the print to breathe when subjected to variations in temperature and humidity, and finally it ensures that the printed surface does not come into contact with the glazing. To reduce the overall frame weight yet maintain strength, all my frames are fitted with Art Screen Clear acrylic glazing to ensure that they are strong, safe and lightweight.
Framed prints are discreetly signed and titled within a 15mm margin beneath the image.
All completed framed landscape prints are shipped in customised packaging by carrier to the customer directly from their factory.
I reserve the right to change the specification of my mouldings from time to time and from batch to batch. Although the mouldings will change, I shall ensure continuity in the general appearance of my product range. I do guarantee that any customer who orders several frames in a single order will be supplied with frames made from the same batch of moulding. However, I cannot guarantee that any customer who places a return order for frames some time later will receive mouldings from the same batch.
